On April 5, 2016, Denver University Mathematics Professor, Dr. Alvaro Arias will be presenting math logic problems to students and talking with students about how math is used in a variety of professions. Dr. Arias is originally from Guatemala. He has taught mathematics at the university level in Israel, Texas, and Colorado.
On April 8, 2016, (Friday) there will be a fraction, decimal, percent party. There will be a party for math block 1 from 8:30-10:00, for math block 2 from 10:00-11:30 so that both classes will have a party. To make these parties better, it is requested that each student brings a $2.00 donation to buy supplies, food, and drinks, if you would rather bring a drink or food to school for the party you are welcome to substitute that for the donation as long as there is a way for students to know what ingredients there are so we don’t have any allergic reactions. We are doing this to give the students a super awesome, well earned fun party.
Also coming up is, Community Day on April 16, 2016, which is a Saturday. On Community Day other events are the demonstrations from DGS students. There will be all kinds of different demonstrations from each class. Watching your child’s class do a demonstration can be really fun. there will also be a bike giveaway hosted by the Bike Depot.
